About this Workshop
This course will explore the revolutionary practice of yoga, a practice that can transform our inner landscape and also transform the world. Diving deep into the teachings we’ll search for the essence of the practice and consider how to bring yoga into our lives in simple and effective ways.
Accessible Yoga is known for opening yoga to people with disabilities, chronic illnesses, seniors, people with larger bodies, and anyone who doesn’t feel comfortable in a regular yoga class. Our work is focused on making the essential teachings of yoga accessible – for everyone.
By going back to the philosophical roots of yoga, we’ll examine how the yoga teachings are truly about equality and transformation. Then we’ll explore how to bring these practices into our daily lives, and find creative new ways to practice and share yoga that are equitable and accessible.
Our last challenge is to consider how our yoga practice can help to create a more equitable and just world. How can we use the tools of yoga to support our social justice activism, avoid burnout, and cultivate the changes we want to see in the world around us?
