Amanda Stuermer has been working with non-profits that serve women and youth for nearly 20 years. She is the founder and executive director of World Muse, a social change organization located in Bend, Oregon that provides year-round programs and events to cultivate and activate the potential of women and girls as catalysts for change.
Amanda’s work with OTM has included leading Yoga in Action groups, traveling to Uganda with Seva Challenge 2010, and serving as a senior leader. In 2011, Amanda was granted the Project Springboard inaugural scholarship which led to the expansion of her work with World Muse. In 2012, she joined the Project Springboard Faculty and helped to mentor other emerging change-makers.
Amanda also serves on the board of the Women’s Foundation of Oregon working to make Oregon a place where women and girls can thrive and is the part of the Nobel Women’s Initiative which works with 6 female Nobel Laureates to promote equality, justice, and peace worldwide. She is a chapter contributor to Yoga and Body Image Part 2 (eds. Guest-Jelly and Klein). Her work has been featured in Mantra Yoga & Health, Origin Magazine, and Elephant Journal. In 2016 she was nominated as a Community Hero by the Bend Chamber of Commerce and honored as a Woman of Influence by the Portland Business Journal.
