From southern Maine, now based in NYC, Allison comes to Off the Mat from a diverse background of experiences, studies, professions, and family. She first found OTM in 2013 and since then has been committed to the ways that yoga can stretch beyond ourselves to be at the intersections of our lives and communities.

At the core, Allison’s work in behavioral healthcare for children with developmental disabilities has been the biggest influence on her life. She has been on the front-lines of crisis care, a supporter for parents in educational meetings, and a yoga teacher combining bubbles and drumming to engage children with various behavioral, sensory, and communication needs. This background pushes her to expand the roles of creativity, expression, and vulnerability in our daily lives.

Allison holds a B.S. in Leadership and Organizational Studies and is working towards a Masters degree in the same field. Most recently Allison has been applying her background to the chaotic world of social media, working with organizations such as CTZNWELL and OTM to translate truth and purpose into community engagement. When not choreographing stories online, you’re likely to find her choreographing stories on ice where Allison keeps her body moving as a professional figure skater.
